Common Misconceptions

There are a lot of misconceptions about Christianity. I wanted to confront some of these.

Firstly, good works do not get you into heaven. The Bible is very clear on this. Good works are more or less fruit of the spirit, not a right to passage.

Secondly, Angels and Demons do exist. Demons are more than just a run of bad luck, they impact our life's, yet cannot force you to make a choice, and in that manner, cannot be blamed for you sins. You make the choice to commit sinful acts, not a demon.

Third, we cannot change the future. Our ultimate future, or the future of our planet has already been decided. That is not to say that each person's afterlife has been decided. It is to say that God knows when He will return, He and He alone knows the day and time. Only you can decided where you will spend your eternity, God leaves that up to you.

The forth misconception is that all people go to heaven. This is wrong. My apologies, but you are held accountable for your actions, and the lack of actions in your life. The only way to heaven is to accept Christ as your Savior, repent for the sins you have committed, understand you must sincerely attempt to stop your sinful nature and follow the Words of Christ.

The Bible is 100% true. Many have trouble believing that certain stories actually happened, or that people lived as long as they did. If you accept that part of the Bible is false, who is to say what is not? In order for part of it to be true, we must believe that all of it is true.

The future for Believers

As we Christians that hold tightly to our faith, we must be prepared for our future. For those of us who believe we live among the age of apocalypse, we should recognize what that means.

We should know what the Bible says about these times, and we should be able to recognize impostors. Likewise, we need to understand a few more things, by reading between the lines.

Christians will be prosecuted. We know that because it is clearly stated in the Word of God. By reading between the lines we can guess that this will mean the fall of the church.

The fall of the church could be representative by attacks on the pope. Now even though you may be protestant, and the pope is catholic, the pope is the largest figure of the Christian church in today's society.

I would suggest that while educating ourselves and memorizing scripture, we must be observant to the happenings on our faith. This is not normally advertised on television, so you might have to search our such news online from credible Christian sites.

Supporting Isreal in the Pres. Elections

Israel is the nation protected by God. This is nothing new, it has been shown throughout the entire old testament. This is important, however it is duly important to note that those that support and defend Israel will seek favor with God. This in itself plays a vital role within each of our lifes, and in up coming elections.

There are three different positions to take. The first is that we could stop supporting Israel, which would be outright. If we allow Israel to be attacked then we are no longer supporting the people of God, which means we could be punished by God. I believe that this is possible, and may be how God wants it, we shall see in 2008.

The second position would be to attack Israel. I do not see this happening at all, however I guess it could happen. I do not see any current presidential candidates that are anti-semitic, but I never saw it coming from Mel Gibson either.

The Third and final position would be to support them, as we have. Continue fully supporting Israel, and continue building favor with God. As I look at presidential hopefuls, I am looking to see who will support Israel. This of course is not my only concern, however it is a large part. Troop withdraws and border security are important, that flat tax or fair tax is a big one for me also.

Troop withdraws could hurt Israel, Border security, if let untouched, could hurt the US, and the flat tax, or a fair tax, would be a huge impact on the US also.

It just so happens that Mike Huckabee supports Israel, wants a flat tax, and supports our troops and winning the war. Did I mention that he is also a Christian.

It shocks me the number of people that feel that the Republican party doesn't have a strong candidate. I think those are the people who are too busy reading polls and not doing any research on their own. Silly rabbits. Stop watching the media crap, plug in your brain and do your own research... from credible sources.

The Man behind the curtain

I wanted to take a minute to hear some responses from people about who God is to them. I want you to tell me who he/she is. Tell me 3 things about your God, and what makes them reign supreme in your life, and in the world as we know it.

I am going somewhere with this, however depending on the feedback it might not work, being that most people that read this blog are probably Christian. I am hoping for some responses from people that are not Christians.

If you are one of the more regular readers, p;lease feel free to post here also, I want to try to make a comparison.

Michigan

Do you live in Michigan? If you do, do you plan on staying here?

If you do not live here, have you heard about our state government? If you have, what have you heard?
