Obama/Biden

I am sure many of you have seen these, or at least know what it is. Well, after I heard about a story from a friend, everytime I see this sign, or hear the two names together, I cannot help but think about it. So like many things, I decided to share it with you.

I have heard it said that the new campaign yard signs for Obama/Biden sound and look a lot like another name in the news. I am sure I am not the first, nor will I be the last, however... I did decide to make another yard sign to emphasize my point:

Obama Biden. Osama Biden. Osama bin Laden.

Obama Biden. Can you hear it now?

MCCAIN SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN

McCain:
"America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen.

Last Friday, I laid out my proposal and I have since discussed my priorities and concerns with the bill the Administration has put forward. Senator Obama has expressed his priorities and concerns. This morning, I met with a group of economic advisers to talk about the proposal on the table and the steps that we should take going forward.I have also spoken with members of Congress to hear their perspective.

It has become clear that no consensus has developed to support the Administration' proposal. I do not believe that the plan on the table will pass as it currently stands, and we are running out of time.

Tomorrow morning, I will suspend my campaign and return to Washington after speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative. I have spoken to Senator Obama and informed him of my decision and have asked him to join me.

I am calling on the President to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself. It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.

We must meet as Americans, not as Democrats or Republicans, and we must meet until this crisis is resolved.I am directing my campaign to work with the Obama campaign and the commission on presidential debates to delay Friday night's debate until we have taken action to address this crisis.

I am confident that before the markets open on Monday we can achieve consensus on legislation that will stabilize our financial markets, protect taxpayers and homeowners, and earn the confidence of the American people. All we must do to achieve this is temporarily set politics aside, and I am committed to doing so.

Following September 11th, our national leaders came together at a time of crisis. We must show that kind of patriotism now. Americans across our country lament the fact that partisan divisions in Washington have prevented us from addressing our national challenges. Now is our chance to come together to prove that Washington is once again capable of leading this country."

I found this on the Drudge Report.

I am concerned about this entire situation. I think that Sen. McCain is doing what he believes is right, and I agree. I hope to see his Presidential counter part to do the same, but as it appears, he would rather proceed with the Friday night debate.

All of this seems interesting to me, and as it is not only impacting America, but China and Europe as well, I cannot help but think of the future. Many are calling for a universal, world wide, standard. Sounds like something I have read in a book.. OH WAIT! I did... it's in the Bible.

More developing.

One of those moments

Today I had one of those moments..

I have been working on rebuilding my deck the last couple of days. Since I have torn out the pool, I am moving the deck to the back of the house. Its coming along great, my Uncle Dan came down to help yesterday, and we got a lot accomplished.

Anyway, I was out there today, and since I didnt have someone to talk to, I brought the radio out to listen to. I heard a new song today, by the artist Crystal Shawanda. Her song is called "You Can Let Go"

I knew by the way the song started how it would likely end, but sometimes, these things still hit home.

So here I am, cutting wood and connecting floor joists, trying to hold back tears... thankfully there werent any camera's around. haha.

Below is the song:

Obama Plagiarizing in latest Speech

Sen. Barack Obama stated yesterday: "'Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl Rove-style politics – we're really going to shake things up in Washington!' That's not change ... you know, you can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig."

While most of the media's attention is focused on the "lipstick on a pig" comment, less attention has been paid to Obama's statements preceding the piggie reference, which appear to be an un-attributed copy of the caption in a Washington Post political cartoon (created by Tom Toles on Sept. 5th 2008)

Yet another example of Sen. Barack Hussein Obama's creativity in politics... or lack thereof.

Here is the cartoon:

Exerpts from Palin's Speech... Early!!

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin cast herself as an outsider and took a swipe at Democrat Barack Obama on Wednesday in what was the most anticipated speech of the Republican National Convention. She pledged that as John McCain's running mate, she wanted to go to Washington not to seek the media's approval but "to serve the people of this country."

Depicting herself as "just your average hockey mom," Palin described her political career as mayor of her small town before her election as governor.

"Since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves," Palin said in excerpts of her remarks, released in advance of her appearance. "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."

Palin didn't mention Obama by name but her target was obvious: Obama began his political life as a community organizer.

Palin also said she was not part of the permanent "Washington elite." She said some in the media think that makes her unqualified.

"Here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of the country," Palin said.

The speech was the first-term Alaska governor's first chance to fully introduce and define herself to the American public.

"Here's how I look at the choice Americans face in this election," she said. "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change." It was another indirect dig at the Democratic presidential nominee.

In what was clearly the most important speech in her life, Palin went over her experience as a public servant. "I had the privilege of living most of my life in a small town. I was just your average hockey mom, and signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids' public education better," she said.

"When I ran for city council, I didn't need focus groups and voter profiles because I knew those voters, and knew their families, too," she said.

Google Chrome

If you havent heard about the new Google Web Browser, you must be a yahoo fan. In any case, you need to know about it. Its free, its new, its revolutionary, and you must try it.

First and foremost, you need to understand why its special. They started the programming code from scratch. They wanted it to be fast, secure and user friendly. So far, it seems to be very similar to Mozilla Firefox, with some exceptions. The way you interact is very much like Firefox, so if your using that now, the move is simple.

If your on Internet Explorer, its not a difficult move, and you'll be skipping the Mozilla Firefox step.

The most important thing is understanding why is special... I think I said that already, but really, to fully appreciate Google Chrome, read their comic. Thats right, I said comic. Google created a great "online comic book" to explain their new web browser. Its long and detailed, but I imagine those that arent computer savvy can still understand what they are saying. It really is worth reading, you will expand your knowledge 10 fold. Read the comic HERE.
Next, download and fully experience it. The most unique thing I have had to get used to, coming from FireFox, isnt the location of the tabs and URL box. Its the fact that if I double click on the open space next to a tab, it sends the web browser into full screen mode, instead of opening a new tab (like in FireFox).

Final thoughts, read the comic, download and try it. WELL WORTH IT! Download it HERE.

The Ticket for America!

I believe we've got a chance now!
