"Voters do not have Standing"

Below is Mr. Berg on a radio show giving his proof that Obama is NOT an eligible candidate:

Democratic Attorney Philip Berg filed a lawsuit alleging Obama is ineligible to be president because of possible birth in Kenya. A federal judge dismissed the complaint claiming Berg lacks standing to bring the action.

The 34-page memorandum that accompanied the court order from Judge R. Barclay Surrick concluded ordinary citizens can't sue to ensure that a presidential candidate actually meets the constitutional requirements of the office.

Instead, Surrick said Congress could determine "that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution's eligibility requirements for the Presidency," but that it would take new laws to grant individual citizens that ability.

"Until that time," Surrick says, "voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring."

Berg is now applying to Justice David Souter for an "Immediate Injunction to Stay the Presidential Election of November 4, 2008."

Berg, not only a liberal and life long Democrat, he is also a member of the NAACP, something he hopes will help his voice get heard.

"This is a question of who has standing to stand up for our Constitution," Berg told Jeff Schreiber of America's Right Blog "If I don't have standing, if you don't have standing, if your neighbor doesn't have standing to ask whether or not the likely next president of the United States – the most powerful man in the entire world – is eligible to be in that office in the first place, then who does?"

Berg filed the suit back in August, alleging Obama is not a natural-born citizen and is thus ineligible to serve as president of the United States.

Not only am I pissed that this isnt getting covered, but I am pissed that we "do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring." As Berg points out, its about the Constitution.

Gun Sales Up!

The economy is hurting, and people, in most cases, are cutting back on how they spend, however there is at least one area that is on the rise: Gun sales.

"Fritz Casper, the store's range officer, says customers have two concerns: one is personal safety during a bad economy. "Home defense, personal defense are a concern. A lot of customers refer to events like Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath and the concern for their safety in a situation just as disastrous as a result of the economy," says Casper."

His recommendation? a 12 gauge shot gun, because nothing says stay out like a 12 gauge slug.

"

Casper says his customers also worry about the outcome of the presidential election. He says an Obama presidency and Democratic Congress would mean tighter gun control. "That will cause a limitation on people's rights to own guns, to own specific firearms and specific ammunition," says Casper."

"The semi-automatic rifles are commonly used for hunting and target practice and were once banned under the Clinton administration. That law lapsed under President Bush, but many worry semi-automatic rifles will once again be seen as assault rifles and be banned again under Obama."

A perfect example of this kind of Democratic congress is the "Criminal Ban of 1994" (Clinton era, now overturned). One part of this criminal ban, and I have read the entire bill, stated that manufacturers cannot make a gun magazine that holds over 10 rounds.

My .45 came with a "pre-ban" mag. that held 14 rounds. The purpose of this ban? So criminals dont have an advantage over police... My opinion? One shot, one kill. Well, maybe not kill in this case, but you know what I mean. Four extra shots doesn't make a difference if you hit him before he gets to those extra shots. Not to mention its rarely a one on one with a police officer when guns are involved.

Yesterday on the History channel, I watched the news footage of a police shoot out in L.A. You might remember it: 2 guys rob a bank, fully decked out in kevlar, and loaded with assault rifles and ammo (here). The police couldnt capture these guys for some reason, oh yah, they werent allowed to have guns that would have pierced the armor, there request had been denied (that has also been over turned).

I digress,. Mike Christoff of Mobile Tactics gun shop and range (Macro Island, Fl) is busier than normal.

"'There's a lot of people who never even considered carrying a weapon, but are thinking about just in case, obtaining a carry permit,' Christoff says."

"Many of his customers worry that if Barack Obama wins the election, their right to bear arms could be reduced or taken away."

"If Senator Obama wins, he's definitely against the Constitution. From what I've heard he seems to want to turn it on its head," McCarthy says.

When conservatives fear the outcome of an election, they do as the great 13 colonies did, we grab are guns and prepare for the worse.

Redistribution of Wealth

The below is an email forward I recently received, with the "Redistribution of Wealth" a hot topic right now, I thought it fitting to post. Hope you enjoy it!

"In a local restaurant my server had on a 'Obama 08' tie. I laughed as he had given away his political preference--just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved (needed) money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application, no matter what your party affiliation."

Stolen McCain Sign?

Here's a bright idea for those of you who have had you McCain/Palin sign stolen, or vandalized:

On another note, Nov. 5th I will be taking my CCW class... no worries though, I have owned my handgun for nearly a decade, and can shoot it well.

Concealed Weapons License

So as we near the end of the year, and the upcoming election, I thought it would be important to get my CCW, or concealed weapons license. I want to get it before Jan. 1st as I am not so sure that McCain will win it.

I have found a guy that teaches the 8hr class, or one day class, and has a few days coming up. I dont think I need to list the reasons why you should have the permit, but maybe help those interested in understanding how easy it is to get.

I am going to list the State and Federal requirements, its a long list, but its good to know. Well I guess I will list what it takes to be successful first, as that list is much shorter. :) *I am not to be held responsible for any fallacy that this document may contain.*

To successfully complete the MCOLES 8-hour CCW Pistol Safety Training Course the participant shall:
I. Participate in 100% of the classroom and range firing portion of the training. (AKA stay awake)
II. Pass the MCOLES 50 question written examination with a score of 70% or better. This examination is generated from a test bank of questions. The testing protocol is as follows:
A. Test
B. Review
C. Retest if necessary (WOOHOO!!!!)
D. Pass or Fail at 70%
III. Pass the MCOLES basic pistol safe handling assessment that includes:
A. Inspection of the handgun to determine its loaded or unloaded status; (easy, pull the trigger)
B. Safely handing the handgun from one person to another;(easy start out attempting this with a butter knife)
C. Securing the handgun using a locking device;(easy. if you dont know how to do this, you brought your gun to class illegally)
D. Correctly loading the handgun; and (duh)
E. Correctly unloading the handgun. (pull the trigger?)
IV. Pass the MCOLES CCW basic pistol safety training assessment course of fire. The course requirements are as follows:
A. The target for assessment of Section XI. B. is blank target that measures 25½ inches long by 11 inches wide (equivalent to stacking 3 - 11 inch x 8½ inch letter size paper vertically on a target backer).
B. Distance from shooter to target – 4 Yards
C. Time Limit – None
D. Shooting Position – Shooter’s choice (Note: Range or other factors may limit choices)
E. Starting Position – Ready Position
F. Number of Rounds – Five (5)
G. On the command to fire, the shooter aims at the target and fires until all 5 rounds have been fired.
H. Scoring – (100% ) all five (5) rounds must be within the confines of the paper (25½ inch by 11 inch boundary)
I. To successfully complete the range firing portion, the participant must complete tasks “G” and “H” 2 out of 3 attempts.

Okay, now that you know how easy it is, here are the requirements:

Obama and Spread the Wealth pt2

So you idealists want to spread the wealth, huh? Or is it better said that you want people who make more money than you to spread their wealth?

Heres the deal, and lets think long and hard about it. The majority of people that want the wealth spread, would fall into the lower middle class, and the "poor" in America. Ironic that you want to vote for someone to spread the riches wealth, when I am sure that you yourself want to achieve those same riches. Do you think that the wealth will be spread so much that you will be made rich? What then? Are you then going to be so willing to give up your riches? I think not, but lets look at this from another approach.

Lets say you, the reader, falls into one of these below average income homes. Do you give your hard earned money away to those less fortunate as yourself? Do you volunteer your time? I bet you would be pretty upset if the United Nations took a chunk of your paycheck, what little it may be, and gave it to those in the world far less off than you are. Like countries in Africa, or South America, which are far more poor than you are. You have a roof over your head, and food to eat, you have the opportunity to achieve greatness. All you have to do is create or just find something that someone else wants. Example? Two words: Pet Rock. Only in America can someone pick up a dirty rock, wash it off and paint a face on it, and become rich.

Most everyone wants to achieve wealth, but what is done with the wealth they earn is their choice. If you want to leech off those who have achieved their goals, go learn what poor really is. Give up all your possessions move to a third world country, and live like the truly poor people of the world. Then, you will receive money from the rich, but dont do it in my America, the country that gives all people an opportunity to achieve great things, the country you live in with a roof over your head, and a job that pays you.

YOU ARE NOT POOR, and do not deserve the money that could benefit the truly poor people of the world. YOU ARE LAZY to ask for another mans riches if you are not seeking greatness of your own. America's finest civilians give money to thousands of countries, including itself.

Stop asking, and start working.

Calorie Counting 101

Today I moved another step forward in my workout. I am going to try to keep track of my calorie intake, I want to know how far I am from the "2,000 calorie diet". I have been eating much better over the last month. I knew that was the first area I needed to start working on if I really wanted to see results.

So I have worked on eating healthy, and then moved to portion control... now onto calorie count. I have tried it before, but I wasnt really ready to do it, I wasnt really controlling my portion size, and so when I would count, I would just eat less that day. That didnt work at all. By starting out by eating healthy, and then portion control, I can now count correctly without adjusting what actual consumption.

For example:

For breakfast today I ate:
Meijer Light Rasberry Yogurt (140 calories)
2/3 cup of "Just Bunches" granola cereal (230 calories)
1 slice of white bread (70 calories)
2 Large eggs (140 calories) I actually wasnt able to finish them both, but I would rather round up than down.
Water for drink

So my total intake for breakfast was 580 calories. Thats a LOT more than I thought it would be.

For lunch I ate:
16oz of Apple Cider (120)
1 Chicken Breast, no skin. (230)
1 red pepper (20)
1 grn pepper(20)

Total for lunch: 390 calories. Bringing the days grand total up to 970 calories. In a couple hours I will eat my afternoon snack, lately its been a Kashi strawberry cereal bar (110 calories). Not that I go out of my way to buy Kashi (I think its silly to pay more money for something when I can get a comparable equal that costs less, but these were on sale at Meijer)

1080 would be my new count total before dinner. Dinner is going to be hard to get an accurate count without hurting my brain by counting each individual ingredient... which I dont know anyway. My father in law made some good looking pasties. I am going to guess it is somewhere between 550-850 calories, we will say 650, bringing my total to 1730.

Then the fun part comes into play.. subtracting how much I burn in the day. Havent gotten that far yet, but I did just get a new Bike Odometer! It keeps track of lots of things, including burned calories and fat calories. woot!

It Begins

European leaders met to forge a new set of measures to combat the credit freeze after their failure to act a week ago contributed to the worst sell-off in the region's stocks in two decades.

"I want Europe to speak with one voice for Europe and for the world because this is a global crisis,'' French President Nicolas Sarkozy told reporters as he greeted European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso at the Elysee Palace in Paris. Sarkozy said he's seeking "ambitious, coordinated plan.''

Story here

The way I see it, this is the beginning of the one world currency.

Workout

I am trying to get back into decent physical shape. I recently watched a documentary called "Bigger Better Faster", which did, in a way, kick start my workout.

I had already been working on my diet, and was working toward gaining some mass to my arms, but this documentary gave me a little more inspiration. If you grew up watching Hulk Hogan wrestling for the WWF, or watching Arnold in the movies, the first 5 minutes of the documentary will get your attention... as well as bring back some old memories!

I remember mimicking the wrestling moves, and even making our own WWF championship belts. The guy narrating the film is a little older than I am, but its still the same era.

"Bigger Better Faster" is about steroid usage, and presents a both sides of the issue. He is a middle child, and his two brothers both use steroids, he doesnt.

I was surprised by some of the information, but looking at the media, im not surprised by parts at all.

Anyway, this movie kick started my workout. I am trying the newer series called P90X. Its a bunch of Dvd's to follow on certain days and all that typical jazz. As for now, I do not see a huge difference from other series... but I never really used a TV style series before either, so I have hopes that this will help.

I plan on taking some before pictures, and hope to record myself with pictures as well as weight and my routine. I will get around to that shortly, I hope.

Also of note: I am not following the P90X verbatim. (I know, isnt that the point?) No. I may get around to doing it only, but as for now, I enjoy riding my bike, and I am not willing to sacrifice exercising by a means I enjoy, to do something I may or may not. It could stop me from workingout in total, and I really want to hold true to my routine this time.

I have been on a steady cardio/weightlifting schedule for about a week now. I have been watching my diet for nearly 3 weeks. So far, I have lost about 6-7 pounds. Its enough to motivate me to keep going at it.

My starting weight was 235lbs, and I am 5'10". My legs are in great condition, probably from riding my bike as a kid. My stomach is in crappy condition, andmy arms are... eh. I want definition in them. My triceps have always been better then my biceps, and my back nearly as strong as my legs... must be from the compensation it does for my abdominal muscles. (I remember, while in the Navy being able to pulled down nearly 300lbs with my lats, and leg press about 500lbs.) Crunches and situps.. I often ignored, so thats on my list of things to correct.

Lastly, I am learning to stretch. This is really where the P90X comes in. They have a 1 hour dvd of stretching, I would like to get in the habit of using every other day. On those "off days" I plan on working on building and toning.

This usually the harest time to keep a workout, with winter coming and all. So if I can keep on it for 2 months, I can do it for 3, then 4 and so on. I am looking into a YMCA membership for winter time.

Wish me luck, and if you want to join me on a workout routine, let me know.
